Fostering provides a safe space for cats & kittens who get pulled from the shelter & just need a little more time and love before being vetted and adopted into the perfect home.
Without fosters we cannot truly learn about a cats likes, dislikes, and personality. So through fosters we can help find that cat or kitten the perfect home!

Become A Foster
Fostering requirements for Puurrrfect Paws Rescue

What does the rescue provide?
Puurrrfect paws rescue provides all food, litter & medical for fosters. Sometimes we are able to get cat trees and toys donated as well to give to new fosters to use while fostering. We have a weekly clinic at our vet that fosters for any sick kitties, or medical issues, as well as updated shots etc.
As a foster what do I provide?
You provide the safe space. Cats & kittens need their own room to start off in, away from any other companion animals. You provide the lover and socialization! Fosters write up bios, and provide photos of cats and kittens in their care to give them the best chance at finding a forever home. We ask fosters to attend adoption events where they drop off their kittens and cats for the day in hopes they get adopted, we host adoption events at Pet Smart on Wilma Rudolph Blvd.

Things to consider before becoming a foster :
Do I have enough space?
Foster cats just need a small space to play and feel safe. Enough for some toys a litter box, and if old enough a small cat tree, along with food & water. A small bathroom works great for 1 - 2 cats or kittens.
Do I have enough patience?
Fostering is frequently fun and always rewarding but it’s also important to keep in mind that it requires patience and understanding. Whether it’s a shy cat that needs lots of coaxing and churro treats, to a needy velcro cat. You ay end up with lots of cat hair, and sometimes a scratch due to playful kittens. Its all apart of the rewarding experience of fostering.
Is my whole family on board?
Talk with the other members of the family and make sure everyone is on board,.
Fostering is a group effort!
If you rent or lease your home, is your landlord on board?
Make sure your landlord is okay with you fostering a a cat or a few kittens at a time! As some rental properties have a NO pet policy!
