They were only a few weeks old when they were found with their three brothers in a trash can and brought into the rescue. Special needs senior alert!

This handsome kitty is Carmine Whiskeretti. He came to the rescue from a high-kill shelter and he is so happy and thankful every day! We never know what kind of lives kitties have lived before they get to us but Carmine definitely did not have an easy one. We knew almost immediately he would need extensive dental work. His teeth were in terrible shape. When the amazing Dr. Baugher was preparing him for his dental procedure, she noticed he was very constipated. Hey, it happens. An x-ray revealed he had old leg and hip fractures which had healed, but had narrowed his pelvic opening. So he gets a bit of medicine every day to keep things moving. The old injuries don’t seem to bother him at all, and no one even noticed anything was amiss until X-rays were taken. Carmine is estimated to be 10 years old, but he is in terrific health now that he had those pesky teeth removed! He eats mostly wet food but enjoys his kibble as well. He does require daily brushing to keep his shedding under control. He may get better at self-grooming, but his mouth was sore for a long time. I suspect it caused him enough discomfort to stop grooming altogether.

Why adopt Carmine? He’s incredibly sweet and loving. He has many years of affection left to give and he’s so appreciative every day for this second chance. Puurrrfect Paws and Dr. Baugher have taken care of the expensive dental work, so you just need to bring the love and a brush! (And a little MiraLax )

Choco Chester

At 9 years old, this gorgeous and unusual chocolate tuxedo found himself needing a new home after his owner experienced life circumstances that neither of them could control. It was a heartbreaking decision made entirely out of love, and now our greatest hope is to help Choco Chester find another family to love just as deeply.

Chester is truly striking. Photos don’t even begin to do him justice. He is a massive 18 lbs with a very unusual and soft white, tan and brown coat and icy blue eyes. He’s a gentle giant and enjoys love and attention from his people. He likes lounging around and munching on Temptations treats and a little Sheba wet food occasionally as a treat. He has been seen by the incredible Dr Baugher at The Cats on Commerce and has been given a clean bill of health. He had long-acting medication applied for a minor yeast infection in his ears. At his age, he will need routine dental cleanings to keep his teeth and gums healthy. Chester is looking for a calm home to spend his retirement years. He gets along with other mellow kitties and would probably tolerate calm, respectful dogs. Choco Chester is fully vetted, healthy and ready to find a new family to cherish and adore him.

Mazikeen, better known as Maze, is an 11-week-old female kitten who seems to have skipped the "cat" orientation and signed up for the "golden retriever" training program instead.

This tiny chaos gremlin spends her days chasing literally anything that moves. Toys, strings, dust particles, your shoelaces, her own tail, ghosts... if it exists, it's fair game. If it doesn't exist, she'll probably chase it anyway.

Once the zoomies have been fully unleashed and all household speed records have been broken, Maze transforms into a professional purr machine. The engine starts immediately and remains running at all times during cuddle sessions.

Maze is also working through a personal growth journey: realizing that dogs may not actually be the disgusting monsters she originally assumed they were. It's been a difficult adjustment, but she's committed to keeping an open mind.

Our tiny little calico. She’s the smallest of her siblings, which is why we lovingly call her our “little tiny one.” She’s a quiet, shy girl who enjoys playing with her brothers and sister and would do best with a patient family who will let her blossom at her own pace.

Meet Dolly,

She was an owner surrender to MCACC, she is estimated to be 8-15 years of age, the age is uncertain due to the way the owner surrender form was filled out unfortunately. She is a retired breeding bengal. 

Dolly does not display typical behavior of a bengal. We are unsure of what she has been through, but she is scared and flinches with most interactions. After a few days of settling in her personality comes out more. She loves to be pet, and will roll over into your hand, and show her belly and she loves belly scratches. She is sweet as pie, but scared of loud noises and needs time to settle in.

She has a sister Rosie, (see attached photos of Rosie) whom she does great with, other than that its recommended no other pets, dogs, or kids.

We got a message from MCACC about this sweet girl. She was an owner surrender there, due to housing. They said they had her, almost all 8 years of her life.

Rosie is a bengal, but she does not display typical bengal behavior unfortunately. Rosie seems scared of everything, every pet, every touch, she flinches and is scared. She is not aggressive, and she is not vocal.

We hope with time and the right home she will come out of her shell. We are unsure of what happened to her, or lead her to be this way, our best guess could be some type of abuse.

Rosie will need a quiet home, no kids, no loud noises, not a party home, no dogs, maybe 1 other friendly cat who will help her flourish. She needs someone who understands her, will give her a room to adjust and hide in, and know she won’t be cuddly and loving right away. Someone who will take their time with her, and love her and be gentle with her.

Korra is a medium-haired little fluff nugget with plenty of sass and a whole lot of personality. She’s playful, curious, and always ready for her next adventure. When she’s done ruling the room and pretending she’s too busy for affection, she’ll happily settle in for some serious cuddle time.

Tassie looks just like his mama with his adorable black-and-white spots. We thought he was a girl for the es longest time, so we kept calling him our little “cow” until we found out he was actually a boy!  He’s the most playful of the litter, incredibly affectionate, loves to cuddle, sleeps in bed with you, and goes absolutely crazy for Churu treats—as if he hasn’t eaten in years!

Another surprise! We also thought he was a girl at first. My niece nicknamed him “Plumita” because his fur is so incredibly soft, like a feather. He’s shy and may need a little time to trust new people, but once he feels safe, you’ll discover the sweetest, most loving little boy.

Ravenna is a gorgeous 3-month-old girl with silky black fur and a playful spirit to match! This little lady loves chasing toys, wrestling with her kitty friends, and keeping herself entertained with all sorts of kitten adventures.

She can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but once you've earned her trust, you'll discover her sweet and affectionate side. Ravenna's favorite place to be is curled up next to her person at bedtime, soaking up all the love and comfort she can get.

Ravenna absolutely adores other cats and would love a feline companion to play with. Dogs, however? That's a hard pass from Miss Ravenna. She has made her feelings on that subject very clear!

This discerning young lady also appreciates the finer things in life, including a spotless litter box. Can we really blame her for having high standards?

We met her at MCACC as a stray who was never reclaimed. She came with the nail caps, so we know she’s tolerant of having those put on and being on her. She is estimated about 2 years old, and the most beautiful tabby we’ve ever seen!

She is sweet as pie. She enjoys all the pets and loving she can get. She greets you with a hug. Loves to head butt you, loves kisses, and loves all the attention from people. She doesn’t seem to mind to her kitties, and we are unsure of dogs. She is vocal in the morning for her wet food!!

Annalise, 1.5-2 years old, Female

Meet this sweet, resilient girl who is estimated to be 1½–2 years old. After a difficult start to life, she’s learning that people can be kind and that she’s finally safe. She may be a little shy in a new environment and will need a patient adopter willing to give her the time and space to settle in—but once she trusts you, she’s incredibly sweet and loves gentle head scratches.

She’s playful when the toys come out and isn’t afraid to let you know when it’s time for her morning wet food! She isn’t a fan of being held, but she enjoys affection on her own terms. She has been around children and has done well. She’s less comfortable with dogs and would likely do best in a home without them. She has also been around other cats and kittens; while she takes time to warm up, she may do well with a calm feline companion after a proper introduction, though she’d also be happy as the only cat.

She’s looking for a forever family that understands she’s been through a lot and is willing to let her blossom at her own pace. If you’re looking for a companion who will reward your patience with love and trust, she may be the perfect match.
