Lightning Bug and Thunder came into the rescue as scared feral kittens.

Lightning Bug is now 2 years old and a big boy! He has finally overcome most of his fears of humans and knows we are the food providers and we have the petting hands. He is still a little shy of new people, and sudden movements, but offer him some wet food or temptations treats and he will be your bff for life. He loves to head butt you until you provide pets, make the best biscuits in the world on your leg, and cuddle on his terms.

He doesn’t care for other cats, except his brother, so would need to be an only cat, or be adopted with his brother. His brother Thunder is a sweet boy but still fairly skittish and mostly hides unless there are treats or snacks present. His foster family is loud and chaotic and he would definitely come out of his shell in a quieter home.

Both these big boys are loving and sweet once they trust you, and are fully vetted and ready for their forever homes! These boys would do better in a calm home with no kids, or perhaps a home with older kids would be okay. They’re gentle but nervous of sudden movements. They have not been around dogs but would likely be okay with proper introduction with a calm, older dog, probably not high energy pups.

Meet Amaranth. This chonky lady is just over a year old but she has quite a story and she’s a rescue rockstar. Amaranthe gave birth to her 5 kittens last April, and the whole family was dropped off at her foster’s home that day. As it happens, 2 of her wild siblings also gave birth in the area and soon, folks started wrangling up the kittens. This supermom nursed and raised an additional two litters! Now, nursing so many kittens requires a ton of calories, and she got used to eating quite a lot, especially since food had always been scarce for her outdoors. As the many kittens have grown and been adopted, Amaranth has enjoyed the lazy rescue life she deserves. Unfortunately she has gained quite a lot of weight and will need an environment where her caloric intake can be better managed. Baby Blue is named for her beautiful blue eyes. She is a seal point tabby, and her fur is so, so soft. She is such a sweet, gentle, quiet girl who loves attention. Fidget is one of the nine cats whose owner recently died. Fidget was taken in by her previous owner as a kitten and bottle-fed, so she has known humans her whole life. She is 3 1/2 years old now. The first night with her foster mom she was so shy and frightened that she hid behind a shelf of books and wouldn’t even let her ears be seen, but by the next afternoon she was coaxed out of her hiding place with some treats and by that evening, came out for pets every time her foster mom came in the room. She now explores her room, looking out the window or waiting by the door for her foster mom to come in so she can demand pets. Fidget is very quiet, hardly ever meowing, but full of love. She loves nothing so much as curling up next to your chest for pets, purring with her head against your arm. Because Fidget is so quiet it’s easy to overlook her, but she deserves all the attention she can get. Fidget would do best in a house by herself. What she needs is to be needed, with an owner who can give her a lot of love and one-on-one attention. She is the cat that would be at the door to greet you every day and curl up next to you when you’re having a bad day, purring everything away.

Tim Purrton is looking for his forever home!

We know it’s kitten season, and many people want cute playful kittens, but if you’re looking for a chill and fun companion, please consider our sweet ginger Tim Purrton.

Timmy was rescued by a Good Samaritan when they saw him struck by a car on a very busy road. They thought he was deceased but he somehow had the will to keep fighting. He was rushed to Cats on Commerce and the community pitched in to pay for his extensive surgeries, including immediate eye removal, and jaw surgery for a broken jaw. His traumatic incident left him with damage to the muscle in his back, which doesn’t affect his mobility at all, but you can see and feel an indention along one side of his spine.

Timmy’s accident caused him to be very fearful and mistrusting and he took a very long time to come out of his shell.

Now he is a loving and cuddly little man who adores pets and forehead kisses. You’ll know he’s accepted you when he makes you biscuits and purrs.

He is still nervous of new people and environments and will hide at first. He doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body and never meows. If you set him up a cozy blanket or bed under your bed at first, and pull him out daily to cuddle and snuggle, he will come around pretty quickly, but his perfect humans will need to make the effort to show affection, as his nervousness will cause him to just hide if he doesn’t know it’s safe to come out. He now sleeps on his foster mom’s bed right by her pillow every night, but it took many months for him to work up the nerve to claim that spot

He has a few special requests for his forever home, to ensure it’s the purrfect fit.

Timmy would do well as an only cat but he would also like a home with another cat, but if he has a kitty friend, they must be a submissive/friendly cat. He likes kittens a lot, and gets along great with other cats, but is so incredibly submissive he often gets beaten up on by other kitties. If you wanted to adopt him with a kitten friend, he would mother that kitten and take care of them when you aren’t around.

He doesn’t really understand cat relationships, which is why he is so submissive, and when he wants attention he has been known to bite his foster mom’s toes, and he has very sharp teeth. So for this reason, he needs a home where his humans can recognize the signs of impending chomp, and tell him “No bite.” Foster mom has been working on this, but it’s a work in progress. These are loving “pet me” nips, and not agressive bites, he will not break the skin, but they’re definitely ouchie. He needs to be in a home with no young children.

Timmy also has a special dietary requirement- he eats Purina one sensitive stomach dry food. No human treats and no wet food. He also really needs to go on a diet

For all his quirks, he is a sweet and caring kitty who doesn’t ever meow. He would make a great companion for anyone wanting a chill roommate who is quiet and loving. He is also very playful once he comes out of his shell. He loves spring toys and fuzzy mice.

Timmy is a miracle kitty!! His rescue was nothing short of the work of a guardian angel- as he wasn’t left on the side of the road to suffer, and he deserves only the best he is in a foster home in clarksville, and is fully vetted and ready for his forever home!

Serrano is a 11 week old female, short haired Torbie. She was found with her siblings as a stray in a boat and placed in a private foster home for socialization.

Serrano is the perfect blend of playful and relaxed. She knows how to have fun chasing and playing with her kitten siblings but she also enjoys taking a lot of naps. Serrano is an independent cat and will take some time to warm up. When Serrano starts to feel comfortable she likes to be petted and is quick to purr when her head is scratched. Lilliana is a beautiful white female, short-haired cat with dark patches (Turkish Van?). She has not been fixed/vetted. She was pulled from a high kill shelter with 3 kittens and she adopted 3 more from the shelter.

Lilliana has the rare combination of one blue and one yellow eye making her incredibly pretty! She is completely recovered from a corneal abrasion but has some scarring which may or may not go away leaving her yellow eye to look slightly cloudy. This does not seem to affect her vision at all. Lilliana is very sweet and affectionate with people. She loves caring for her kittens and is very gentle and nurturing towards them. Lilliana lives in a private foster home with children and is used to being held by them. Lilliana does well with some cats and loves both adults and children. Lilliana has not been a fan of dogs in her foster homes.

June is a 12 week old female, long haired, tortoiseshell. She was found as a stray and brought to the humane society where she was picked up by the rescue.

June is a sweet and playful kitten who is always on the go. June is very curious and loves to explore. Anything she finds becomes her toy. June plays well independently but also enjoys playing with the other kittens. When June has worn herself out she enjoys being loved on while laying in the cat tree. June lives in a private foster home with children and is used to being held by them. June does well with other cats, dogs with slow introductions, and loves both adults & children.

Precious long-hair tux girl, meet Stephi! Stephi is approx 11 weeks old and will be spayed once she reaches 3 lbs. Stephi was trapped with a colony of cats/kittens with the Humans Society TNR program. It was quickly realized that Stephi didn't look like any of the others and was very affectionate to people. Stephi was likely "dropped" by someone into a group of outside cats. She is very social, confident, and affectionate. Loves to sit on your lap for cuddles and passive when held. Very playful with any toys or kitten playmates. Just a sweetheart.

Hi, I'm Daleyza (pronounced Delesa) it means delightful. I'm female and I was born on 4/29/24. I'm the sister of Daxton. I'm a soft grey tabby with more green than yellow eyes and I can be a little intimidated by new people in my space, so give me some time.
Mostly I like to chill. My two favorite things are cuddling up with Mom and eating, not necessarily in that order. I like the jingle-bell ball toy, but batting it around can be sooo very exhausting...I'm going to need another nap afterward. Mostly though I like having my belly rubbed and being a couch potato. Is anyone up for a Netflix marathon? If so, I could be your girl.

Hello, my name is Daina, and I am a female born 4/29/24. I'm the largest of my siblings, Daxton and Daleyza and I can be a bit spicey and a little bit of a bully. I call that the privilege of being the largest and possibly the oldest. I'm all black, so black that my coat shines like a raven's wing. My eyes are yellow like a large harvest moon and they miss nothing. I'm constantly watching what is happening around me and I'm ready to pounce, in the event food hits the floor or my favorite toy is being played with by a sibling. I love all toys, but especially those that are moving.

Hi, I'm Daxton. I was born on 4/29/24 and I'm the only male in my small family. I'm also the tiniest yet the bravest. Once I know you, I will run to greet you, especially if you have my favorite food in your hand!
As you can see by my pictures, I'm very photogenic. A male model in the making. Just point your phone at me and let me do my thing. I know I'm cute with my soft gray-striped fur and my white paws and chest. I have inquisitive green/yellow eyes. I don't mind being held for a moment, but seriously people, I have places to go and toys just waiting to be played with, so keep it short. Caramel Fudge: I am the craziest and most outgoing out of my siblings but also the most cuddly. I will zoom around for hours before I get tired. When I am tired, I love to cuddle up and purr as loud as I can!

This happy sprite is a classic tortie beauty in her dark coat of inky black, lightly dusted with rich gold, and highlighted with brushstrokes of ivory. This little jewel is full of bounce and pounce. She scampers after jinglebell and fuzzy balls, tries to capture the laser dot, dances along with feathered wand toys, and zips up the cat tree. She enjoys carrying on intriguing conversations. She and her siblings were found in a trash can at TCAT Clarksville. Unable to escape, without food or water, they were so lucky to be found by caring people who called the rescue. They were brought into their foster home frightened, filthy, covered in fleas, starving and severely dehydrated. With the resources of the rescue, all 5 kittens survived and they are all unbelievably sweet. When Telaya first arrived, she hid behind anything she could find. After only a short time, she realized she was safe and now she can’t get enough of people! She rubs on legs and has the loudest purr. She has a more serious personality but she is probably unaware that she makes the funniest faces. If you're lucky you will catch her with her little pink tongue sticking out! Once Obsidian decides that you are friendly she will follow you around and meow for you to pet her. Obsidian likes to watch everyone in the home and can be independent. Obsidian really enjoys being petted and her head scratched. Obsidian lives in a private foster home with children and is used to being held by them. She was found as a stray, with her siblings.
